My elderly, British father married a much younger, Filipino lady a couple of years ago. He passed away last year without writing a new will and she is therefore entitled to most of his estate, even though his children were the sole heirs on his existing will.
I am trying to request for a Cenomar/Advisory of Marriage from the Philippines as we have heard rumours that she is still married there. When i have this information, then i would like to request the Marriage certificate, which may have been anotated with the divorce.
I have already paid for the document and arranged for DHL to go & collect it from the PSA in the Philippines.
They are now saying that they cannot post it to me unless i provide them with a signed authorisation letter from her.
There is no way that she is going to agree to this, why would she after all? She's happy with how things are.
I would be grateful for any advice, as to how i can overcome this issue or if there is another way around it.
Then you have to move quickly. She appears to have committed bigamy and therefore got into the UK by lying but you need to prove this. I asked you to communicate by email but you have ignored this. I cannot assist you any further. Good luck.
Is the property in the UK or Philippines? Is this lady living in the UK?
I think you have lots to work on. Question. Is the property in the UK or Philippines?
I have come across this situation before. That woman would have married falsely as Philippinos are Catholic and are not allowed to divorce. I am pasting below some advice given to me by an English gentleman, living in the Philippines
The piece of paper needed to prove past or no marriages is a CENOMAR
or certificate of no marriage .
To get it you'd need her name, d.o.b. PLACE of birth and all that...and POSSIBLY her permission.... I'll ask a lawyer ....
regulations change here all the time, especially since 9-11 fake papers are harder to get, but SOME papers are easier just pay the STATISTICS OFFICE
I GOOGLED
philippines statistics authority get CENOMAR. -- CAN'T GET IT i think see list of authorised persons.
LIST here of who is authorised.

Actually the Embassies and UK immigration do all that stuff.
If she really wants to put a spanner in the works she 'd better write to UK immigration stating
"reason to believe XYZ is using fake papers or something, "
but might need name, dob, passport copy etc to pin down the info onto the correct person ....
Bottom line Daddy is responsible for himself, not answerable to anyone
If no joy, Email on immigrationmarriagefrauduk@yahoo.co.uk and I will put your questions to him and ask if he can help
